It’s a mad mad world; no it’s a mad
mad America.Have we gone stark staring mad? There is so much going on that I’m suffering
from bloggers overload. But what’s becoming more unsettling is the current emotionally
atmosphere surrounding healthcare reform. Where did this go wrong? I feel like
the Obama Administration is playing catch up to debunk all the misinformation
and blatant lies about this plan, as opposed to talking about the benefits for
all Americans to consider this plan. What happened to the organized Obama team?
How did they manage to let the ignorant loons set the talking point for this
reform? From “death squad” to “socialized healthcare” to “take your hands off
my Medicare!” to the more ridiculous to mention. I am appalled when I watch the
news and see what’s going on at these townhall meetings. It’s downright scary.
Yes, I expected a debate, but what’s going on is NOT a
debate but an angry misinformed mob unleashed into our society. There has been
violence, major disruptions where the police have to be called, frightening
racial slurs spewed, death threats and burning effigies of some elected
official. Not one Republican leader has
stepped forward to ask for civil discourse and to tone down this vitriol; which
really means that Republican leaders agrees and condone this behavior. It’s
downright disgusting and I ashamed! Did we release all our town fools to attend
these town hall meeting?
I agree with Ta-Nehisi Coates who suggests that this isn’t about healthcare at all but more about the overall fear of Obama and what he represents. The Clintons had a nasty time with trying to pass healthcare reform in the ‘90’s but it bears no resemblance to the current environment. Jonathan Alder wrote a great piece and this is the best position I have seen so far from the left, so here is my short note to President Obama.
Dear President Obama;
Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. How did
this healthcare gem got swiped out your hands? We are expecting a lot from you I know, but
this is one bill that must not fail! I want you to handle this like you did
when you were running the Democratic primary. Remember how Hillary was a giant
that couldn’t fall and yet you manage to smoothly win the primary AND the
national election? That’s the Obama I want to see again, you still have the
support of the most Americans, so get this ball rolling. No more happy hour on
the White House lawn, that was downright ridiculous. No more vacations or
overseas trip for now. No more photo ops unless its one with your sleeves
rolled up in a meeting with the knuckle heads in Congress and you are discussing
this health care mess of a bill. If it means you must go on camera every now
and then, and give some soaring speech to get people on board, DO IT! And
please send out more information (in simple language) about this bill so that
your supporters can have civil discourse with people who will listen.
Sincerely;
No Nonsense
To my
readers:
I contacted my state and local representatives
on the phone and told them how I felt. Here is the link to find your representatives.
I fully support letting everyone have access to heath insurance. A
government option for insurance will force other insurers to lower their cost
to compete (something they don't want to do) . No one will be forced to use this
insurance if they don't want to, it’s that simple.

I think my elected representatives are getting tired of hearing from me.
While these "townhall protests" may look like a mish-mash of idiots who can't do anything but scream and shout, this is a well-orchestrated campaign waged by the insurance companies - they pay for it, DC lobbyists tell these wackos how to act/speak/scream/etc. Someone on another site recommended that the Pres start doing 1/2 public service annoucements to explain the healthcare bills, and I think that would be a great idea. They're trying, but getting drowned out, because the insurance companies have all the money in the world, all of it from our pockets, and they're spreading it around by the hundreds of millions to wage war on reason. That's really hard to fight.

Bee like I discussed with my mother in an earlier conversation this bill was not sold to the people properly. I find more negative information that positive, I had to scratch like a mad chicken to find anything that summarizes the bill. As a supporter of this bill that should not have happened. I frequently get emails from various political campaigns and groups. I expected to get one with coherent and simple points for open discussion. Nothing... nada... zilch. If it wasn't for the current frenzy, I wouldn't know much. That's the point I'm trying to make

Racism is the motivator here, as can easily be verified if you look at the ties between the healthscae morons, "teabaggers," and "minutemen." And then, check out their ties to the "militia" guys of the 1990s. It is a plain and simple fact that a lot of these so-called movement "leaders" either knew McVeigh, or the Kehoe brothers, or all of them.
