Not Pussified

That’s right “Not Pussified” That’s the name of the music video that the Heene's (I am lumping Papa & Mama Heene together) made with their three sons. As I watched that silly video, and I am hard press to believe that this family did not pull off the biggest national hoax ever for the sake of fame. Music video,being on a reality show and now desperately shopping for another one, it’s clear that they love the spotlight.  At first I thought “No this couldn’t be a hoax! Who in their right mind would pull something like that?” I was certain that it was a mistake, now the tangled web is unweaving before our very eyes.

 

Today Gawker has published  a paid interview  with Robert Thomas, who has worked with the Heene's,doing a variety of stuff, from science experiments, to pitching their reality show, to handing out flyers, even babysitting their kids.   He mentioned that it would be difficult for an adult to get into the crawl space of Heene's attic, but a small child could, with the assistance of an adult. Therefore this Falcon could not have gone up there himself! This interview cast Richard Heene as eccentric and that’s ok with me. But I do have a problem when we are forcibly subjected to it through the media. Fortunately I caught the media blitz at the very end with MSNBC Tamron Hall breathlessly telling us that the balloon was less that 500 feet and would hit the ground shortly at which point the camera view who be cut off for viewing audience. What a waste of time and money. Right now they are estimating that the cost of helicopters, emergency officials and shutting down an International airport is around $2m.

 

Go ahead Colorado charge these fools and let them reimburse this money. Am I happy that there was no boy in this balloon? Yes! Am I happy he was only hiding? Yes! But, I am so over these attention seekers who have nothing to offer mankind. From Paris Hilton, Heidi and Spencer, and the John and Kate  et al. Give us a frigging break!

Show Stopper

Once in a while we’re blessed with a riveting entertainer. Today we have Danyl Johnson. The video below is a cut from his audition in Britain’s XFactor.  His critics claim that he doesn’t have a great voice and he sounds pitchy; true it’s not the best I have heard, you can go to any evangelical church on a Sunday and hear a voice belting like that, but damn this dude performs. You just can’t take your eyes off him!

Danyl certainly has the XFactor! He can sing. He’s good looking. He appears comfortable on stage. He has a smile that makes the heart skip a beat. He’s animated and has enough energy to sway everyone in that theater. Danyl had them waving at the first chord. And you felt good after he was through performing. Incredible stage presence and I would pay to see him concert.

P.S Don’t you get the feeling that he prances around his house like that singing to an imaginary audience?

While I think David's Letterman's joke about Bristol Palin was in very very bad taste, it has been much ado about nothing. I heard it and knew that he surely wasn't referring to the 14 year old. He hasn't been the only comedian that made jokes about Bristol Palin's getting "knock up". But because he didn't use her name in the joke it has given defenders a reason to be outraged about. When I first heard his joke, I immediately thought of Bristol... no one else. Now who in their right mind would think he was talking about an underage girl if their own minds weren't in the gutter?  Yeah Yeah the 14 year was the one at the game but Sarah Palin has only ONE daughter that got pregnant. This should be a lesson to all pundits and comedians, children should be off limits!

My guilty pleasure is The View. I watch because it's train wreck! There is Whoopi who occasionally stumps on Elisabeth(placed there stratigically to piss us off), Joy Behar is a clown and the other one serves no purpose. But every now an then, Barbara or Whoppi would step up to the plate and ask some tough questions. Today Glen Beck was the man of hour, watch as the first segment goes downhill. Beautiful!

Superbowl 2009 was the best yet. I don't think I have ever watched a game that had me sitting on the edge of my seat like this one. The last two minutes had me in knots, but that's not what this post is about. I wanted to honorably mention Jennifer Hudson's rendition of the national anthem. She has raised the bar, I got goosebumps.

After all that she has been through last year, losing her mother, brother and nephew in such a violent way, she came out and stood there with such poise, looking as beautiful as ever and delivered the anthem the best I've heard to date.

I am now a fan!

Out with Ignorance

That Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View is a dim-witted buffoon! When is her contract on that show up? I caught today’s episode and she was making a big deal about kids growing up confused about God when their parents are of different religions. Then Whoopi tried her best to explain that if the kids are exposed to both, there is no confusion, it just the norm; and the kids are free to choose later in life what feels right for them. There is no reasoning with that stupid girl, because it didn’t stop her illogical babble. I think Barbara Walters keeps her on for entertainment purposes only.

 

This is same kind of ignorant mentality behind the passing of Proposition 8 in California and Amendment 2 in Florida (Stop! I can't start on that right now). Dump people casting their dumb fears onto society, because they are ignorant to areas of life that they are not familiar with. I have a very close Christian friend who married a Jewish fellow over 15 years ago;they have 3 beautiful teenage children. These kids are introduced to both. They observe the Jewish holidays but there is a Christmas tree every year, with tons of gifts beneath it. I know that my friend also observes Easter with her kids. I am not a therapist but these kids appear well adjusted to me.

 

It same kind of horse-shit, that a group of asshats were yakking about children living in a bilingual household. They even wasted their time writing books on this garbage. I heard all sort of crap! Oh these children take longer to speak, or some of them need speech therapy.  If it weren’t for the fact that I lived in South Florida where just about all the kids live in a bilingual household and they do just fine, I probably would be worried about raising my own child in a bilingual household. Thank god I was exposed to this environment. He started speaking at the suggested milestone (now its consistent chatter) and he does it on both in English and Russian. And now that he started school, one of his teachers speaks only Spanish to the children, so he follows instructions in Spanish. That’s his life, he doesn’t know any different. A bilingual household will always be the norm for him. And trust me; the kid doesn’t get confused either. When he wants to get his father’s attention and only his attention, he speaks Russian. He has never once said anything to me in Russian except to correct me once when I screw up the pronunciation of airplane. (That was a hoot).

 

We are in the era of progressiveness and this ignorant thinking must go and so must Elisabeth!

Chick, you ain’t seen nothing yet

Don’t you just cringe when these young starlets say stuff like “Even though I’m just 19, I been through a whole lot!” Ugghh, that's what Julianne Hough (formerly of Dancing with The Stars) said the Sheri Shepard on The View today. Apparently she now has an album where the lyrics (which sound much more mature than her 19 years) are reflection of her life.
