While I think David's Letterman's joke about Bristol Palin was in very very bad taste, it has been much ado about nothing. I heard it and knew that he surely wasn't referring to the 14 year old. He hasn't been the only comedian that made jokes about Bristol Palin's getting "knock up". But because he didn't use her name in the joke it has given defenders a reason to be outraged about. When I first heard his joke, I immediately thought of Bristol... no one else. Now who in their right mind would think he was talking about an underage girl if their own minds weren't in the gutter?  Yeah Yeah the 14 year was the one at the game but Sarah Palin has only ONE daughter that got pregnant. This should be a lesson to all pundits and comedians, children should be off limits!

I couldn't help it...... I thought everyone was so skirting around the issue                       

                                                      

Stupidity at its best

Through all this seriousness, here is an injection about a child that was left behind

                     

Last night I went my local grocery store and stopped at the seafood section. I decided to get a piece of salmon and after a very long wait, this was my experience.

                            

Girl:        “Can I help you?”

Me:         “Yes, may I have 1/3 of this piece?”(Pointing to the salmon)

Girl:        “You mean like a quarter?”

Me:         “No 1/3”

Girl:        (slightly irritated) “You mean like a 1/2?”

Me:         “No 1/3”

Girl:        (all attitude) “What’s 1/3?”

Me:         “A portion. . ¼ is ¼, 1/3 is 1/3 and ½ is ½” 

So girl chopped off  a tiny piece maybe 1/8.

Girl:        “Like this?”

Me:         “No more”

Girl chopped off another slightly bigger piece

Me:         (Exasperated)”Ok fine”

                            

I did not feel it was my civic responsibility to stand there and teach her 2^nd grade math, but this is exactly why you should stay in school
